Mixing/Mastering / Idea for mixing practice?

I just came up with this idea at work today randomly.

Someone posts full stems to a track, and its your job to mix it to sound good.

We can all comment on how they sound, and who's needs work/aspects of the mix that you like/dont like, making us all better.


Anyone up for it?

I've always wanted something analogue to layer some cool sounding leads and bass with, and theres one of these local selling for fairly cheap. Think it would be worth picking it up?

Mixing/Mastering / Layering a snare over a kick. Mix help

Hey everyone,

I can never seem to get a snare/clap to sit over a kick and sound proper. I either cut too much away and it sounds like a weird transient of the kick itself, or I leave too much low end from the snare, and it messes with the lower frequencies of the kick itself. Sometimes it sounds okay, but most of the time it just doesn't

What are some tips for layering a snare/clap over a kick on every other beat? I can't seem to get the processing correctly.

Grum right now is one of my favourite producers. If you listen closely, you can tell theres a reverb on his kick. Does that seem odd to anyone else?
