Samples/Plugins/Software/Gear / Microsoft Surface Pro for music production

Hello!

so my old laptop is starting to show its age and i decided to upgrade to a Microsoft Surface Pro 3 with an I7, (i think) 16gb ram and a 256gb solid state hard drive. Has anyone done much production with an surface pro? Ill be using FL Studio and right off the start i noticed issues with ASIO4ALL, has anyone else? the only other issue i see being is that i use a focusrite 2i4 sound card and it would have to be interfaced with the Surface Pro Dock. has anyone has any experience with the dock? i want to know what im getting into before i dump money into add on crap for my surface for production or if i should just suck it up and get a designated production computer.

Composition/Arrangement/Theory / Overwhelmed by new prodcution knowledge!

This may sound dumb but i spend the majority of the day yesterday on the TPF and i learned more in 1 day than i have in the last 2 years! once i got home from work i sat down at my computer ready to make some phat beatz and then i felt super overwhelmed and kind of limited by my new found knowledge. normally i don't think twice about anything and go to town in FL Studio but now i have all of this new knowledge that's sitting in the back of my head causing me to second guess my production. its hard to describe. should i just go for it and then come back around and apply what iv learned? or apply what i learned as i go? i guess my creative process needs changed up a bit. Recommendations?

I currently have a set of KRK Rokit 8 G2's and im looking to upgrade. The Rokit 8 G2's have a manufacturing flaw where the volume knob doesnt work properly after some time and im getting sick of it and im looking to get a new set of monitors. i really like my rokits and im thinking about getting a set of Rokit 6 G3's but im also considering other options within the same price range ($500). Any recommendations?

I personally am a sucker for the Access Virus B. I use it in almost all of my productions and I cant get enough of the built in arp.

WIPs / My bass is always muddy and sloppy

It happens in every song i make i often stop working on songs and start over because everything starts to sound all sloppy and im not sure how to fix it. I feel like my overall mix would be much better if i could solve this problem.
