Introduction Thread

Maybe have a template something like this?

Name (real or producer) :
Soundcloud/social media link (if not already provided in profile) :
General Area (if people want to meet irl, maybe we can make a meetup.com group) :
Favorite Genre :
How many years have you actively been producing?
Are you looking to collaborate? If so, who would be your ideal collaborator? :
Do you want to be a WIP buddy? (someone you just bounce ideas off of) :
Hobbies (Other than producing obviously) :

Having a brain fart right now, this is all I can think of, but yeah...

Personally, I find it a bit hard to meet new people, even on a forum like this, don't know why, but that's just me. I think this would make it easier for people to make new friends quick, like tinder?

I directly looked for an introductory thread the second I registered...
It's also a great way to connect with newcomers imo

I asked mat zo this (in a pm), and he thought that that's something for social media, that this is a strictly music forum. Now, don't take my word for it, and but if he doesn't reply to this thread that's roughly his view on the site, at least regarding a "General/social" section of the forum. But as said, I'm not speaking for him! Only conveying what he said to me.

Although it might change if we're nagging enough! Personally i think it's a good idea.
I would write something here, but I'm too lazy to do so

Honestly, it's very hard to connect with other producers through social media... I also think if we were to have an introduction thread, we would be able to know the person better, become better friends, and thus creating better tracks with each other. Personally, I don't enjoy collaborating with other people at this stage, so I probably won't be able to become buddies with many people on this forum, since it seems like that's what it revolves around.

I think it would be a good idea to do this in the forum instead of via social media. There are so many different social media these days, plus maybe producer A is using Twitter, while producer B is only using Facebook. It might be easier to connect at 1 place, just here at the forum in my opinion.

Instead of having an introductory thread, maybe we could establish some sort of profile biography where you can put a lot of that information. That way if someone is curious about a member, they can just click on their profile and go to their bio instead of having to find their social media information or dig through some big thread.
