How do most of yall get samples or stems to songs? Is there a website to download them, or would that be considered "illegal"? I'd like to do a bootleg a remix, but Im not sure where to find stems for the certain song

These three subreddits are alright for what you're looking for.

Also Remix contests through beatport, remixcomps.com, splice and the million other remix comp sites.

All of these together and you have a pretty large catalog to sift through.
