I do it because I love to learn, and because I derive great pleasure from making music.

It is one of the areas where there is an almost infinite amount of knowledge to be gained, so I'm never likely to run out, and because it is a great creative outlet for me.
If the truth can be... told...
so as to be... underSTOOOD...
it will be... belIEVed.

I do it because I love escaping into a song that's never been heard before. Music is the best escape from this reality.

Of course the idea of playing shows and being up in front of a crowd of 1000 crazy dancing people has always intrigued me, and that is largely why I started. I have continued on the path that I am on now because after finally making music that I love, I can say there is no other feeling like it in the world. I want my music to take me to foreign places where I can share it with people whose souls light up like mine does when I hear people like Andrew Bayer or Above & beyond live.

Nothing in this world makes me happier than being able to put my emotions into a song and having someone else that I may not even know feel that emotion. i also just want to get melodies and beats out of my head and the only way I know how is sitting down on ableton. Personally I feel as if I'm wasting time when I'm not producing.

I realized that music was the only thing I enjoyed and didn't quit after a few months. I've been a musician since 2008 and I listen, re-listen, re-listen, and re-listen to a lot of music because there's so much to hear even in just one song. I'm not that good a musician (at least to my standards), but with DAWs anything is possible and progression never ends. I haven't stopped making music since I figured that out.

I'm not 100% satisfied with most of the music I hear, even with most of the music I like. (Not all though...some of it is just perfect.) So I try to make music that fills in the gaps or pushes the peaks higher.

That's not the only reason I make music, but it's one of the main ones.

I guess what's funny about this reason is that it's recursive! I'm not 100% satisfied with my own music now. :D

When I was about 15 years old, I found myself in the hardcore/punk scene and was surrounded by that for quite a long time. Over the next 7~ years, I spent all of my time in bands, going to shows, and hating everything that wasn't hardcore, including house.

To give a bit of background, I've been playing guitar since I was a small child, and have been using computers since then too. So I've always been a gear head/tech geek and never realized I could create such elaborate tracks all by myself until one morning a couple years back while browsing reddit, I came across a specific video (which I'm not gonna mention) that made me realize that all of this was possible.

When I heard the confinement of the 4x4 kick, there was an immediate draw to me. I knew what house was previously, but I never really took the time to analyze it until that morning. I realized that there was something so beautiful in keeping yourself strictly set to that 4x4 kick, and creating drastically different tracks with the same principal. Being able to make extremely dark and interesting tracks with a kick/clap/kick/clap combo was just far too enticing to me to pass up the opportunity, and I've been in love ever since.

ultimately because ive been listening to trance for the majority of my life at this point, and DJing wasn't enough - as soon as I started years ago i realized i had more to offer than just playing other peoples music. i wanted to be able to contribute my own work to the trance scene. and that at the end of the day keeps me going as well. of course, my goals from the start have changed but the underlying reason hasn't which is a good feeling

because its in you and you love to do it, I started off djing and then got curious to know how a piece of music was made

nowadays i cant spend a day without looking at ableton live, it makes me happy and peaceful, like flow in life, its the best time to be making music now with a computer

I wasn't thinking much when i started making music, but i've been at it for 1/4 of my life, it'd be stupid of me to throw all of that away.
but honestly making music is really fun and it helps me relax when everything else is going to shit.

Usually its because there is some tracks/albums i really like and i want to make some in the same style to have more like them to listen to.

I make music i want to hear.Like almost everyone i think.

Also the magic feeling when you find a good melody, make a great beat or chords. The mysterious magic of creation.
Being surprise when you start a track and it goes in a totally unexpected way.
