Really cool sound - could be interesting for movies!
But I think the chorus could have one more layer - for the high mids. Maybe strings or a pad or choir.
Good work, MarkSutor!

Thank you for the kind words! I actually messed around with layers in the chorus for a long while and I totally agree with you...but everything I tried to do just muddied it up a bit and took away from the low bass stabs that I wanted to be the centerpiece.

That's why the higher stuff is all just ping-ponging around the sides, sweeping through the middle occasionally. Just got to the point of "ok, now I'm just changing stuff to change stuff", ha.

Interesting tune mate! I really enjoyed it. To be honest with you, this sorta reminds me of the Matrix soundtrack. Same sorta sounds haha

Honestly, I hear that more often than not with comments on my music..."sounds like it could be used for a commercial or a movie soundtrack."

I've worked in post production for film/commercials for years, so makes sense...but I'm definitely not actively pursuing that while writing them, ha.

5 most recent years on my own with another 5 years before that songwriting and playing in a rock band - I was putting together lite ideas on garageband and working with other engineers during that time.

Consistently writing and producing has definitely shown progress from my early crap, that's for sure.

That's awesome that you were able to work with other engineers probably helped a ton

Oh yeah, it was so confusing at first, I remember seeing them patch a ton of stuff into big boards and having zero fucking clue of what was going on (they were just bussing stuff, ha) - that's definitely what created the initial interest, especially once I started to use Logic & midi to actually create stuff on my own.

If you know of anyone who produces/engineers/tracks, just ask to shadow them. Unreal how much that helps.

Really like the fat saw haha. I really like how the reverb on the bass sounds, but honestly it does make the spacing of the mix a little confusing, even though it sounds good. I like the song :)
