Which drum VST should I use/get to finish this song?
« on: January 07, 2016, 06:53:13 pm »
I use logic x pro, and I recorded MIDI beats with logics vst-drum designer. It sucks balls- very limited parameters to screw with and you cant make your own kit. What are my options for VST out there to do this? Right now I'm thinkin superior drummer, ezdrummer, battery 4, or ultrabeat.
I must be able to make my own kit.
Logic does have amazing jam packs with various percussion, I would love to load apple jam pack sounds into any of the other various vst is this possible?!

So for the song, I need an acoustic kit, tabla, and electronic kit.
File too big to upload so here is a soundcloud link to give u guys an idea.
Many thanks,

Why don't you just use samples and drop em in the track?

listened to the whole (pretty long) thing and I feel like it doesnt need much drums.

Either way, just like Aaron said, drop samples in the thing, download them online everywhere and have fun. I'd go for more natural/real sounding packs.

Samplephonics could do the trick for you

You don't have to use VSTS.

Sample packs are .wav files. You just drag and drop them into Logic and place them where u want them to hit. Then you can process them like you process VSTs (with reverb, EQ, delay, distortion, and etc)

That sounds extremely time consuming. Can I load the wavs into ultrabeat or some other VST? arent there sampler VSTs out there?
