What voice synths are any good?
« on: January 07, 2016, 05:18:08 pm »
I have tried to search to find a good voice synth for a while, but most require assembling( on mac) and I have no clue as to how to do that.  Are there any ready-to-go voice synths(txt to speak) that are reasonable/free and good?

If you want the standard text to speech I just use google and see what each site that pops up has in terms of voices. If you want to get super complex you can look into something like a vocaloid like Daisy which is a free one.

Thanks a lot! I´m gonna check this out later. The google trick has been tried, but it is usually no better than what already exists in OS X.  I have been buying readings on fiverr, but it is a bit of hit´n´miss game.

Like a sound that is a voice used as a synth? Use your phone to record you saying vowels. Then import that audio, most daws has a function where you can import that small vocal sample as a "wave table' So boom you have a voice synth. Does that help?

I sometimes use Maschine as a DAW, and ALS referred to Ableton Live Suite. Sorry if it didn´t make sense at first.

Hey all good haha I didn't realize ALS meant for that I thought you were signing me up for that ALS ice bucket challenge. Nice! I bet that set up is fun. Well I do know fl studios has a voice generator that does exactly what you want. Or you type whatever needed to be said and have your mac or computer "Speak" the text you wrote while internally recording?

I recently discovered VST Speek, really cool vintage-sounding plugin.

Where´s the text-to-voice in FL? Is it native in the program?
The VST Speek was not really what I wanted but it was kinda funny tho`

Yes, it should be in the channel list as "Speech Synthesizer", or something along those lines.
