Beautiful Now (Harwood Remix) - Zedd [Future Bass]
« on: January 07, 2016, 10:53:57 am »

Hi there,

This is my first attempt at future bass, for which I decided to remix Zedd's brilliant song Beautiful Now. I know it is not perfect but I feel like it definitely represents a huge step up for me in my productions, all feedback would be really appreciated.

Thanks

Harwood

Hey, this is a great attempt for a first try at a genre :)

I'm no expert on making this kind of music, but I do like the genre, and i'd say the thing I like most is about how the drop hits HARD.

You've got the melodic chords down for sure, and an awesome beat, but it needs a sub and the drums could be more punchy. That way when it drops it sounds HUGE ;D

Hope that helps :)

Thank you Flux, this feedback agrees completely with what I've had from other people. Do you think an 808 trap style drum or a Sub-bass following the chords would sound better? I've been told I should use an 808 before but feel like that would take away from the airy Future Bass feel and make it too trap like?

Really appreciate your feedback though, thank you!

Thank you for the feedback I really appreciate that! For my next one I'll work on improving the bass somewhat!

Hey man, I think this sounds great, except for the Kick Drum and the Sub.

I feel like the Kick Drum should take as much space as possible. (That's actually the reason why they created sidechain compression!) So if you could just make the kick sound as huge as possible without blowing the track, I think the track will improve heaps.

I love the synth sounds, all of the composition of the arrangement, and all of the percussion. It's top stuff!!
