Olivier Giacomotto style bass
« on: January 15, 2017, 10:02:34 pm »
Hey there fellow music enthusiasts.

I have been using two particular bass sounds that I sampled from Maschine for quite a while now. However, I have no luck trying to remake them. It's always missing that bite.

Have a listen to the two sounds I mean here:

Hopefully some of you sound designers could give me a starting point on these. I have Komplete, Diva, Sylenth1 and using Ableton Live to produce, so hopefully it'll be possible to remake that bass in one of those.

Thanks in advance guys!

Dennis

You could make that bass in all of those synthesizers. The trick is to use a saw wave playing a low bass note (in Ableton, i used D0 and E0 for the first sample) put through heavy distortion or saturation, then put through a low pass filter with a no attack, no sustain, and a fairly quick release. I made it in Operator, in Analog, in Massive, in Serum, and in Diva, so if you can't figure it out just let me know. :P
