Massive Bypassing Problem
« on: January 04, 2017, 06:25:21 pm »
Someone plsss help me out over here...

So I'm trying to bypass the noise 'oscillator' straight into the EQ, but the audio effects on FX1 and 2 are being applied to the noise oscillator regardless.... In the routing tab, I routed the noise oscillator to bypass and go straight into the EQ. Additionally, I cranked the 'bypass' level located to the left of the master volume all the way up so none of the filters/FX are being applied.. but I have no luck. Am I missing something? Also, the filter level next to the noise oscillator shouldn't be doing anything if I'm bypassing the noise oscillator either right? But when I do crank the level all the way to filter 1 or filter 2, my noise is being altered.. Also insert 2 affects it as well lol... (insert 2 is located after filter 1). If i bypass an oscillator straight to the EQ, isn't it going to the EQ and straight to the master? is this where I'm wrong? I'm so confused lol someone pls help a brotha out :(

I attached the preset here so take a look at it if I'm making no sense!

Thank you so much in advance my fellow producers keep grinding erday

Turn down the "Amp" on the noise oscillator completely, set it as the bypass, route it to the EQ, then use the bypass fader as your volume control. Voila! Your noise is now only being affected by the EQ changes.

What's happening is the "Amp" knob on the oscillators are telling you how much of their signal is going to be sent through the amplifier in Massive's signal flow - not what the overall level is of that oscillator. The FX are placed directly after the amp and directly before the EQ and master output inside Massive's signal flow, so anything that gets sent through the amp is going to get affected - even if you have that same signal being bypassed!

Why thank you, I'm flattered! And I'm happy to help; I wasn't actually sure of the answer at first myself and went through a few workarounds before the signal flow clicked in my head, so it's great to get questions like these. Good luck in your productions!
