Prog House/Trance WIP
« on: January 02, 2017, 01:58:33 am »
Hey everyone! Happy New Years!

Anyways, this is the year that I'm going to finally finish the several WIP's that have been on the back burner for far too long now, and this track that I'm sharing here is one of them.  You guys are welcome to roast and toast it, as it will only make me more determined to finish it  8) I'm definitely interested in hearing some feedback and if you have a track you want me to give feedback on then just let me know!

BTW the mix is somewhat quiet. It hasnt been mastered yet

alan!! happy new year to u too!

i like the atmosphere in this a lot. the guitar in the breakdown is really pretty. is that from a library? the main thing i'd suggest, and you might be doing this already, is to not worry about DJ intro (0:14 to 1:15) too much yet. you have a lot of good things going on melodically in the breakdown - i would work on beefing that up and adding more ambience and layers to it, as well as figuring out the drop/climax of the song. once the core idea of the song is fleshed out, the DJ intro will come pretty naturally at the end of the process.

unless that section IS the drop, in which case, i would maybe add some more melodic elements to it to give it more interest. this is a really nice start, cant wait to see where you take it!!

thanks for the kind words! yes that guitar is from Goliath by East West. I love it.

thanks for the feedback, the drop is actually mostly done but I left it out because it didnt satisfy me yet.  I usually develop the core of the song first and then let everything branch out and thats what I did this time, it just doesnt sound like it from this clip =P sorry about that.

hope you've been well!

I just realized the clip was deleted because I didnt have an account, I reuploaded it lol

Not much to say here man, good shit. My only comment would be that I'm not a huge fan of where the clap is sitting, given how wide everything else is. Maybe adding a wider element to the clap would help out, but this is probably just a matter of individual taste. Keep it up!
