Made some chords and melody. Thought it sounded good but also hella familiar? Anybody know of a song that sounds like this?

The instruments you chose have already been heavily used in EDM (because they're good) and its a common chord progression so yea it sounds familiar BUT that does not mean that you cant make it your own sound still.  So continue it and have fun with it! It sounds like you already have the main vibe so just see where it takes you.

i agree with alan! some progressions are common because they're effective. one thing i would recommend is adding variety to the note lengths on that lead synth at 0:30. the melody is quite nice, but giving it to us the same way over & over again makes it get a little stale over the course of a song. also, i would consider adding in more of a low end when the plucks come in at 0:40, either adding a lower voicing on the pluck or some kind of a separate bassline.

this is a nice start, though. i can't wait to see where you take it!

Thanks for the responses! I guess it makes sense about the sounds considering they're preset :p . Definitely going to work on giving it greater variety, specially on the melody and sounds.
