One problem of alot of beginners i think is how to do post processing of synths. Maybe post here some of your post processing tips?

I literally just throw on an EQ, and try a bunch of different effects...

It's definitely different for every sound, but one of the most important things you can utilize is an EQ. Same goes for a compressor. It would be useful to check out some of the other threads on here and read up on how to properly do these things.
