Hi everyone,
Please forgive me if this has been discussed already. What are some ways to achieve an absolutely huge chorus section other than the typical distorted layered lead on top of opened pads (and vocal if there is one)? Of course there are numerous other kinds of high-impact or high-energy moments that are achieved without this formula throughout many genres, and I'm not speaking to the musical aspects involved such as harmony, melody, or voicing, but strictly speaking with the sound/instrumentation in mind, I can't think of any way to deliver a chorus in a bigger way than through this method.
There are many ways to design a pad or lead and to process a vocal, but ultimately I feel like most people, including myself, are limited to the same devices if we must fill the spectrum as required to deliver "hugeness". What do you all think? If you have any ideas or listening suggestions for music that retains the same sort of energy without the same tricks, let me know!
