Hi, i am a real newb to making synth sounds, and i have heard often that FM synthesizers (like FM8) are the best to bring out the most for making plucky sounds like u SIA-Cheap Thrills or Kygo-Firestone kinda plucky sounds.
Like some people say, "U can make a good similar E.P. pluck sounds by using Sylenth, but if u really want to make it better, u need FM synthesis from like Massive or FM8."
I have no idea if those comments are reasonable or what anyway,  so i am hoping to hear from you guys about whether that is correct or at least how that statement probably came from based on the characteristics of FM synthesis whether u don't totally agree with those ideas. Thanks.

Looks like someone already answered the question before I could. The synth doesn't matter that much, and anyone saying you can make something "better" in one synth is just more comfortable with it.

You can make bells and deep house plucks easier with FM, but it's not essential. Like the person who replied on reddit said - learn the basics!

sylenth is a good synth but remember it is an analogue synth with the good old saw, sine, square waves, etc

synths like spire, massive have analogue, wavetable/wave shaping and FM synthesis, which means more variety in sounds

which means sylenth and NI massive, spire are completely different synths

its not good to just learn one synth
