Looking for the best way people know to isolate vocals on a standard track. Is there a software (professional grade or free) that alot of people use? Or is subtractive synthesis the only way? Any tips or tricks would be appreciated.
Thanks!!!

Ask the artist really nicely for the stems haha
In all honesty there's no good way to do it unless you have a 1:1 instrumental

Sometimes if you're lucky you can take out the stereo information leaving just the mono and that isolates the vocals a bit. But yeah stems are the way to go for a clean sound.

If you have an official instrumental, you can invert the phase and sum it with the original mix to cancel out everything that is the same. Ideally, this should leave you with the vocals.
