Currently I am working on a song that has a very calm section and proceeds to a section with drums, a synthesized pluck, an eletric bass, guitars  and of course, a set of chords with a very simple melody. But it still feels empty. :/ I tried playing the same chords and melody in a different synth but it sounds weird with above the piano.

The best songs I can give as reference to what I want to do are Summertime by My Chemical Romance https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ITIPYRcKbKI and 26 by Saints of Valory https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1qY3lPdn-Mk

Any ideas? Thanks guys!
Some of the best eaters in the world, eat food...this is how the pros eat food like *spoons with ps4 controller* it is way better...it's so much better than using a fork and a knife. Look at that bounce. Some of the top chili eaters in the world use controllers.

Pads. Get some slow violins playing the chords in the highs and see if that helps.

Light percussion (congos and hand drums, shakers or maracas, and brushed snares or side sticks are some good examples) playing a simple pattern with a lot of reverb and/or delay can provide space and atmosphere, while continuing to drive your track forward through the softer sections.
