atmospheric trance/progressive sounds

Hey guys, I am really into the whole atmospheric, chill trance/progressive music at at moment, such as from guys like solid stone, clameres, LTN & robert nickson pres. RNX. I would really appreciate some advice into creating some of those soothing pads such as in this link here: (pad used at start of track)
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sJ1WUUKQORo&index=19&list=PLdBR8mARFMVzZUgYbQ4JGih9O4gNjqcbS
and the pad in this link here (starting roughly at the 0:30 second mark):
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KazhUcixtcg
And also the bass sound used in this link (main bass at 2:02 mark):
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BXxr1iVq4pU
Also if anyone has any other good advice in terms of sound and structure about this particular style would be great and much appreciated.
Thanks
