Getting Out of the 8 Bar Loop

I'm sure this has been covered before. But can anyone provide some good material on how to avoid this? I constantly get stuck in the loop, and all my favorite influences compose masterful arrangements. I'd appreciate anything you could offer. <3

Josh Huval: Honestly, the guys who are making good art are spending their time making it.

I use to be exactly the same. In fact I made a habit of it.

Stop listening to the 8 bar loop over and over. Have a small a break and think about your next plan of action.

Come back and write what you thought. You don't have to use your DAW to come up with what happens next, only putting it down.

Think of your music as more of a story.......
