Pitching Samples
« on: June 04, 2016, 01:43:46 am »
So whenever I'm working with my samples, obviously I would like to be able to throw them into my piano roll (FL Studio) & be able to pitch them at different notes without affecting the timing. I've been looking at youtube videos & googling this for a while now, and every method I use just doesn't seem to work. Could someone help and maybe elaborate on how they go about doing this? Thanks in advance.

FL Studio's sampling engine has a transpose knob in it.

Top right corner. Range is how far you can transpose it in semitones, and the knob scrolls in cents (100 cents = 1 semitone).

If you have Harmor then you can pitch samples pretty easily. Just open Harmor and drag the sample you want to pitch into the IMG tab within Harmor. From there you can play the sample at different pitches with your keyboard/piano roll.
