Topic mostly says it all, here are some additional details. I use Macs, I currently save all of my Ableton Projects in a Dropbox folder, and that has worked OK.

But there is all this other content that I haven't solved sync for:
- Synth presets
- VSTs/AUs themselves
- Samples

So basically, how do you keep content that lives in the Ableton User Library in sync, and how do you keep your plug-ins in sync across multiple machines? I'm trying to be more efficient with my production this year, and spending less time on this sort of stuff seems like a win.

Thanks!

one way is just to optimize your platform.

other than that, i am unsure how to alter the file types.
Josh Huval: Honestly, the guys who are making good art are spending their time making it.

Use Splice. It's like Dropbox, but for DAWs. Plus you can see your arrangement on the website and have a catalogue of your previous versions.

I use a symbolic directory link to move project, preset, and data folders to Google Drive. It requires a bit of setup on each new system, but it keeps everything backed up and versioned. Of course, Google Drive isn't always so great at handling large batches of changed files, so it gets a little messed up whenever I have my DAW scan for new plugins.

Thanks! I tried doing this a while back w/ Dropbox and couldn't get it to work, but I should probably try again. Are the symlinks themselves in your Google Drive directory or in your Library directory? In other words, does Ableton follow a symlink to Google Drive, or does Google Drive follow a symlink to Ableton?

I hadn't really thought of Splice as something that a solo Producer would use, but that's an interesting suggestion. I'll kick the tires on that and see how it goes. It looks like it probably doesn't sync presets and some other aspects of the library though?
