Martin Garrix esque saw
« on: January 06, 2016, 06:35:22 pm »
I know this is some generic ass shit but i can never manage to get my saws to sound quite as good as this. I understand a lot of the basics for building supersaws, including layering. Skip to about 1:32 for the sound i'm thinking of. If anyone can offer some insight into how to get a saw sounding this good id appreciate it.

Its nothing special, just a generic supersaw (most likely 3xOsc). If you understand the basics of a supersaw, then keep tweaking things to try and find the exact sound.

The only things I will add is that firstly, this supersaw sounds like it has a white noise top layer to give it some hiss. It's also very bright, so maybe EQ sweeping around the top end to see if a simple spike helps give you the sound.

The break is just detuned saws with saturation (and maybe a slight of OTT) layered with a proper mid-bass and sub bass.

Yeah having a combo of the supersaws, white noise, and also a lead ish sound to glue the white noise and the supersaws together, could sound really good.
