Summer night chillout house w/ guitars
« on: May 11, 2016, 01:19:43 pm »
Hi guys!

Thought I'd share this nearly finished project with you. It's a slow tempo house song with relaxing guitar riffs and pads. I've used some mechanic noise, distortion and bit reduction to make it sound more authentic.

Here's the link: https://soundcloud.com/casual-backspin/kesayo

So tell me what you think and what could be done better! :)

Nice kicks. They're heavy and take up space, but aren't too overbearing. Maybe take their volume down just a smidgen, but it's not interfering with anything in the mix.

Love the sidechaining that starts at 0:33. The subtleties of this track are just phenomenal - there is a lot of movement and elements that are changing and moving, yet it's all so subtle that you have to listen for each one to happen. It's really beautiful. My favorite is the little synth at the end of each 2nd bar - it's really space-y and gentle.

The guitar work is really awesome, though I'd throw some more reverb on the sample. I like the slight delay effects used though, helps to add even more to the mix and give the track some more variation.

I love the vinyl sound to this track, and the vibe is just perfect. I can visualize myself driving down a city road at night to this one, kicking back and vibing as I pass all the neon lights. Excellent work friend, I love it. :)

Thanks Shikimo! That feedback really made my day. I'm glad that you picked up the parts that i too was focusing on, vinyl feeling, subtlety etc.
Awesome that you liked it :)
