Teenagers n stuff have infinite free time I think is the difference.

Though I cut down my work schedule to three days a week to focus on production so I suppose I don't have an excuse either...

The requirements for production have dropped significantly. When I started to DJ, the software wasn't readily available, and youtube didn't even exist.

The barrier to entry is lower?  You don't need to have a real job and save up for a buttload of equipment, you can get started with a laptop and some headphones and expand from there.

Plus, there are a lot of resources online to learn and grab software.

It's "easier" to get into producing now.
