Would like some feedback on my WIP
« on: May 08, 2016, 06:16:53 pm »
I've been working on this track for a while and I just need fresh sets of ears to tell me what's wrong and what I need to add/remove. Appreciate any constructive criticism from you guys  ;D

Great and solid, nice intro, the vocals are alright and really nice drop with a beautiful synth.

I find no bad things on the track...keep on working! ;)

Cool idea but the drop and overall mix is undoubtedly quite underwhelming. Don't let that discourage you! You've got great ideas here so far. The baseline is far too weak and it sounds like you either need more layers, more volume, or both. Are you currently using a limiter/maximizer on your master chain?

Thanks for the replies guys. And to answer KLANG, yeah I put a limiter on the master which I automated for the breakbeat part. And I've also noticed about the mix but my computer constantly lags so I have to export and listen all the time. I think I'll just have to wait until I get a computer with a faster processor. Thanks alot for the feedback though!  :D

Buildup is splendid! Really enjoyed it!

Break:

Synth needs to be more.. special.. I don't know what's wrong, if i did i'd be the one making all the super tracks. But it's sounds kind of too onesided, like it's "too easy". The snare/clap also needs work, try layering it with some other snares.

Overall i'd say it sounds kind of generic, but well.. Generic works as long as generic is top notch, so keep at i guess
I would write something here, but I'm too lazy to do so

Nice mix on the intro, buildup was great but didn't really deliver much of anything (it's a taste thing with me, I'm personally not a fan of repetitive kicks). Also, your kicks seem to be a bit over bearing, even though they're not really loud they still seem to clip out the rest of the song. The track as a whole sounds pretty static, a little more mixing and balancing can go a long way.

Overall pretty good though, especially considering I'm not a fan of drum & bass or house. I've definitely heard worse, that's for sure. Keep at it.
