Psy producers! How to get that punchy bass?

Work in progress above...I still find the bass lacking punch. Any advice on proper chains?  Also, is it really necessary to purchase a sub to mix the low end?

Thanks!
Hardware: Scarlett 2I4, Push, Eris E8, Rode NT1-a
DAW: Ableton 9 Suite
Plug-ins: Massive, Camel Crush

Your hi hats are a bit too loud and seem to drown out the "clicky" part of the bass. Also if you put a compressor on your bass pluck synth with an attack at around 0.85 and a quick release, it'll create a stronger punch to it.

cheers

I would go for a chain of multiple L3 Ultramaximizers + Rbass set to a low note that your bassline is playing.

Awesome advice/tips guys.  Thank you.  I think I was able to find the right combination of chains to get that punchy bass.  It really took just Ableton's Operator, eq8, Multi-band limiter and Kickstart compressor to do the trick.

Here's a what came out of it.  New project, key at B instead of F#.
