Untitled Long Form | 3 Part Experimental Thing
« on: January 06, 2016, 04:22:35 pm »
the other day i tried to make an outro for another song and ended up kinda seat of the pants making this big evolving thing. since that session i haven't really edited it except for a few mix changes, and i'm kind of scared to bc it's so long lol. https://clyp.it/4v4za5ku.

first part is messed up trap stuff, second part is like melodic breaks, third part is synthwave. third part cuts off abruptly; i intend to add another 32 bars to it or so. also, the fundamental on the snare in part three is way too loud and i have since turned it down. the biggest things i'm unsure about are

  • how long part two is
  • how the tempo change is integrated between the second and third part (is the change too fast, or too slow?)
  • if the transition between part two and three has enough going on sonically
  • part two's mixdown

i appreciate any and all help! thank you!

(also, question, how did you get the drums as punchy as they are? it sounds like some of them are clipped but i'm honestly really not great at drums, so i'm curious.)

all of my drums are clipped to hell. i use this thing, it's free http://static.kvraudio.com/i/b/ss_tsclip.png
