Inspirations and Copying... A reflexion
« on: April 22, 2016, 12:32:42 am »
Well, there is a really huge difference between influence and copying, every PRODUCER NEEDS TO INNOVATE. The influence make to you, sometimes, try to do one specific genre, but with your own style.
Innovate and have an own style means a lot of work :'( , yeah, but there is no an easy way to get to your dreams  ;D

I admit it, I had strong influences in my music, from various artist. But I use all influences to try to make my own style, a combination that make something new  ;) . DonĀ“t worry If you get frustrated, the first and most important thing from an artist needs to be self-acceptance, try to be better than yesterday, be sure of yourself and never feel unmotivated, never stop  :)

I had these ideas sometime after start producing, I have pondered a long time and I want to share with you all but I want to read more opinions.

What do you think about it?

(Sorry for bad grammar, not my language ;D)

I don't think every producer needs to innovate.

Same here.  You don't need to reinvent the wheel, but at the same time I think its good to try without obsessing over it.

Yes, there is a difference between influencing and copying.  But sometimes when you try to "copy" a track, you end up with something entirely unique and your own, which could then also count as being influenced.  So its a tricky thing to analyze.

My advice would be to not worry about being someone who "copies". There is no shame in it, as long as you arent copying and making the exact same track, then you are fine.

Work on the self, work on knowing yourself, work on being yourself.

Let the art come from the self.
Josh Huval: Honestly, the guys who are making good art are spending their time making it.

you should take from other people and be inspired but you have to innovate

your sound has to be different from the pack

you need to stand out from the others

easier said than done lol

Try to get some ideas from different songs you like and combine them in your own creations.

You could take for instance a rhythmical bassline idea from one song and get inspired by the sound design of a bassline from another song.

I only start writing on my next song when I have such ideas to start with.
