drums are out of place compared to the music, especially the snare.

Your supporting instruments like pads are a little loud, melody gets through, but not by much.

You have decent imaging, i think that your volume balance is something you need to consider. Especially for what's appropriate for each element for the song.

Thanks for the feedback!  So when you said out of place, do you mean that the drums do not seem to fit with the concept of the overall song?  Or do you mean my drums are out of sync?

Thanks for the feedback!  So when you said out of place, do you mean that the drums do not seem to fit with the concept of the overall song?  Or do you mean my drums are out of sync?

The context of the drums as in: The sound, the effect choice (effect chain), mixing.

I think that you had some pretty decent samples, but, together it didn't mesh well for the type of song/music you're creating.

It's like you are trying to do bits and pieces of things that other people do, and apply it to your song.

I think the instrumentation is pretty ok, for me it's tough to listen to the song with out getting the production down to at least a manageable level. So the song didn't really impact me in any way.

The problem is that, if you were to fix the drums, the instrumentation would have to readjusted for the change in the drum mix.

Try to work on getting to a point where you can make your sounds cohesive with effects (i don't mean slap on a compressor either...). Make sure your tonal and sound characteristics of the drums(kick/snare;cymbals are kind of otheir own thing but pay attention to how the kick/snare sounds), bass(not sub), leads (pads/melody) all have a similar effects associated with the group.

Take what i said about the similar characteristics with a grain of salt. With out working with you on a 1 on 1, that's about as much i am willing to elaborate.
