In the end they all achieve the exact same thing, so it's really a matter of which one you are willing to put your time into, or some people use multiple daws. But for the record I don't like flstudio 12s plugin management, I favor flstudio 11s much more.

Tried all three still prefer FL 12   ;D
but honestly its all about personal preferences. some DAW's have certain things that others don't.

Yeah I found that FL's Piano Roll is easier to draw stuff out compared to Ableton but Ableton has better automation plus some default plugins seem better (Operator, Autopan, Autofilter). but its all preference and what you are comfortable with and what you want. No DAW is better.

This so much!

I've tried all 3 and I love all three of them :D The only reason FL is my main is because of the piano roll, otherwise I would use Ableton the most.

FL and bitwig are pretty similiar in workflow. I use FL but if I would want to switch for whatever reason I probably would take something that has a different workflow.

I feel like I'm not understanding something when people say it doesn't matter. Maybe I'm just closed minded, but Bitwig is definitely the best. Ableton crashes regularly, making it really hard to finish big files. Also, the interface is weird to navigate and annoying for my workflow (which I think is pretty similar to the majority of workflows). FL's interface is nice, and super convenient, but it doesn't lend itself well to controllers and feels like it's meant to be easy for beginners while still retaining a full set of features, which I consider a negative trait. Also, I never understono the whole 'give automation it's own track' thing.

Bitwig has better plugin effeciency, as well as sandboxing in the rare case that it does crash, so it takes literally one click and 5 seconds to restart a project that crashes. Also, the plugins can be reloaded 1 at a time if they crash. Bitwig's native instruments and effects are enough to make a whole track (then again, so are FL's and Ableton's), and run really smoothly in Bitwig's engine. Speaking of the engine, it compensates for plugin latency, which is kinda unnoticable in most situations, but in the cases it isn't, it's really obvious (I think Ableton might've gotten it recently, but the point is that Bitwig was first). I think the biggest benefit to Bitwig is that it's the most recent. People left Ableton to make Bitwig because they wanted to rebuild it from the ground up, using their previous experience to make a whole new project. Because of this, it''s really easy to fix issues, as well as add new features. Updates come around every month or so, and when there are big bugs, they get fixed in about a day. Bitwig may be the newest big DAW to the scene, but even in the 1.xx versions, it can still compete more or less evenly with the 9.xx and 12.xx versions of other DAWs.

If I got anything wrong, please let me know, I would hate to guide someone to the wrong DAW.

It's really all about what your workflow is, how much you wanna see vs. how much control you want to have, and what you get used to quickest. After a point, plenty of producers start switching between DAWs - I'm pretty sure Deadmau5 uses Ableton, Bitwig, and Pro Tools, for example. And I coulda swore I saw another producer talking on twitter about doing their sequencing in Ableton then switching over Logic for their arrangement and audio editing.

The way I see it is that the answer to why it 'doesn't matter' is that you use whatever DAW you enjoy the most. Most DAWs are flexible enough to get whatever sound you want, some way or another, so pick the one that you're going to enjoy using. Learn a few on a basic level via demos + reading manuals and pick the one you like best.

EDIT: also this thread should definitely be in the Samples/Plugins/Gear thread

As someone who is very visual, I prefer FL. The interface is easy on my eyes, and it's easy to navigate.

That being said, I don't think any one DAW is better than the other. It all depends on the person, and the situation.

Ableton crashes regularly, making it really hard to finish big files.

You need to upgrade your computer! I use Ableton everyday up to 7 hours - can't even remember the last crash ??? On windows it runs super stable.
