I had a thought today and was wondering if you could get a PEAK compressor to work like an RMS compressor?

My theory is this; you'd need to have more signal going into the compressor with a low ratio. probably also a soft knee rather than a hard one.

I also tend to think that a higher attack and release setting would be needed to capture the average aspect of this particular theory.

Let me know if I've done goofed or if it's something that could work.
