Imagine - An 18 year old's "future bass" type track
« on: March 30, 2016, 08:41:25 pm »

Hi there. Looking for some feedback on this track. It's one of my better ones and my favorite that I've made in a few months.

Mixing/Mastering Tips are very welcome because that is my weakest point. I know the track isn't too loud and the either is the low end. I need help man.

Thanks!

It sounds a little bright. This could be from either over-doing some of your EQing or maybe uneven bands on a multiband compressor during mastering. Just something to keep in mind :) Remember your ears are the best judge of what sounds good! Definitely something I always have to remind myself.

Thanks for the input. I often struggle walking the line between boosting highs to make it sound clear and and boosting highs accidentally making it sound to bright and harsh. I'm not too good with compressors (I know what the knobs do, I just don't know how to apply it to music) so it's definitely an EQ'ing thing.

^ that is an important thing in mastering. So many people forget that the human ear hears different frequencies in different volumes. Master accordingly!

If you have an eq that can do left/right eq'ing that also is a HUGE thing to not lose certain sounds or you drums in a mixdown.

If you want any 1 on 1 help, more info, or tips, feel free to message me and we can skype or I can take a look at the FLP if you use FL and help you learn!
