Vera - Pure | Opinions wanted :)
« on: March 22, 2016, 04:07:16 pm »
Made a new track the other day and I'd love some feedback,

I played a couple solos over it, the melody is mainly piano with a drum and bass. Written in major so slightly more happy sounding.
Enjoy and please let me know what you think (be as harsh as you like).

What can i say...track got some potential , but in fact it is boring in my opinion. I think you need to make your mix better (Drums are ok even if they could be more groovy , but the rest like piano and fx's needs to be mixed better).  I think you should just move on , make other new tracks and maybe one day back to this track :)

Ps: also the first 3 sec does not fit to this track completly in my opinion

Okay :D, thanks for the insight. I was thinking of maybe adding vocals, and I definitely need better drum samples. I suppose mixing comes with experience so I'll just keep at it.

Yeah , if you got a good vocalist (or simply good accapella that would fit to your track) it is worth a try. Also working with vocal gives you additional experience (many producers claims it is really hard to mix acappella, and they are propably right) :)

My biggest tip for you: search a lot for good drum samples. The best track can be ruined with bad samples.
