because its in you, and you love to do it, and it brings you happiness and satisfaction in daily life

motivation slumps every now and then though so you need to keep inspired to keep motivation, you need to look at a lot of things in life and challenge your thinking 

you need some killer instinct if you want to be a musician i think, its like sports a bit

Music answered the one question that has persisted in my life ever since I was old enough to actually contemplate it: "What do I want to do with the rest of my life?"

I don't care what I end up doing within the music industry, as long as I can make a living off of my work. That's what keeps me motivated - the commitment to myself that I will survive off my art, and the courage to radically change part of my life for something that has no guarantee of success no matter how scary or uncertain the outcome may be.

Someone once said that to find your "purpose", look at what keeps you up at night and what you lose track of time doing.

For me, that's always been music.  When I came to that realization, it was a beautiful thing.  Now, I currently (and probably won't ever) make my living off of music, but as time goes by, I become more and more comfortable with that fact.  As long as my passion and my heart is being fulfilled, it doesn't matter too much what my day job is.
