Need Help with this Chord Deconstruction!!
« on: March 14, 2016, 12:54:54 pm »
Ok so Jason Ross just released a beautiful track called coaster!

What has he done to create these chords, what I'm picking up on is some sidechain compression with some reverb/delay? Can you guys help an amateur learn how to replicate that sound please? What sort of reverb/delay does he have going so it echos back at you when the chords aren't playing like that

Also If he has reverb/delay going how does he have the chords so cleanly bouncing to that rhythm?

Thanks so much for the help you guys are awesome, here is the track, drop starts at 2:37
Anjunabeats, OMW!

I've been really diggin Jason's recent releases, although this one isn't my favorite.

On top, you have your classic supersaw layering.

The background arp is very reminiscent of his track with Wrechiski, "Atlas".  It's an arp (or its reverberations) at a low volume in the background.  https://youtu.be/39_sHgZNI5w?t=3m59s

I'm not sure about the chords - maybe someone else can chime in on that.

theres a trick to that type of sound

many progressive producers do it, i just dont like it when they just change the chords and release more tracks like that with a new name lol, gets a bit annoying...

i know the trick kinda, but for beginners its good to know the trick

zuubi makes much better progressive stuff imo, he deserves more recognition, as he's not under anjunabeats like jason

you can start off here with zuubi's stuff, he goes through his track so you can listen
