Vocal resynthesis in Ableton Live?
« on: March 09, 2016, 10:35:41 pm »
So, I have access to my friends' computer and he has Ableton Live. I am a Fruity Loops user and learning Harmor and its resynthesis options has been a blessing. I'm wondering if there are similar options in Ableton Live(searched through the forum and found nothing, as well as looked through Ableton with no luck except for finding a Sa/impler plugin, but that's just playback at different speeds).

Also I know piggybacking on this is a bit cheating but it's better than making a new thread; are there options inside Ableton Live that do a good job with Noise Removal(e.g. Edison can acquire a noise profile and isolate it from the clip)?

Harmor is quite unique. It can run in Live too, so I'd go that way.

There's no native noise removal in Live. This one worked for me while not ruining a bank account (that much):

...but don't overdo it, because that's called being a d***k.

Thanks for your suggestions. And also thanks for reminding me that ReWire exists! Depending on how much I enjoy doing stuff in Ableton I might actually switch to it because I'll be able to have the best of both worlds! Thanks again!

I'm not sure if you thought he meant you can run Harmor via ReWire, or if you just remembered about ReWire, but you can run Harmor without having to ReWire FL into Ableton. It does come in VST format, some of your other favorite plugins from FL might too, you should check on the image-line site!
