Progressive Trance WIP
« on: March 09, 2016, 03:17:21 am »
Hello all,

My first post on this forum. I've been messing around with this track for a couple of months and wanted some feedback from you guys. I'm very new to production, so constructive feedback would be great. I tried to go for a progressive trance feel.

Thank you for listening!  8)

I find the chords in the drop kinda loud.also what i would dois replace the kick drum for another sample. I recommend you to watch some videos about mixdown and stuff which are gonna point you in the right way of improving yourself. Then it all comes with practicing . Good luck !

The kick + bass part really needs work. It's pretty dull at the moment. There is very little mid-bass that usually gives the driving feeling to a track.

Take a listen to a track like this: https://soundcloud.com/kinesthetics/nurburgring

Thank you for the reply. I will take a look at mixdown videos, and before posting this track, I knew that is my biggest weakness. When you say replace the kick drum for another sample, is it because the particular kick drum I chose doesn't fit the track? I'm actually layering two kick drums and that might be screwing me up.

Thanks. For the bass - does it seem like the mid-bass just isn't there or not mixed very well? I tried to go for a funky bassline and tried to avoid a rolling one.

Thank you for that track. It's amazing and will definitely take ideas.
