i suggest looking into buss effects.

The mix is pretty good, but it's rather dry. A dash of reverb would be good for this.

I would suggest you lower the decay on your sub bass a little bit to make it tighter.

Some hi hats would be pretty nice, or a rhythmic synth that would take in that frequency range.

i'd add in some more effects, synths with effects, on that intro part, it's rather sparse.

Josh Huval: Honestly, the guys who are making good art are spending their time making it.

Definitely like the ideas you've got going. The Mix is a lot quieter than it could be. The kick is veeery weak. try and boost the kick so it hits harder.

As for the above comment, some reverb could go a very long way towards making this feel bigger / louder.

Keep it up!

Any suggestions on making the kick hit harder? I've already put it through some parallel compression / phaser and it's hitting at -1 dB

Great melody, sounds like a mix of chill music and glitch hop, really dig that! However, I would put some OTT on the lead that's in 1:50 and 3:50 to make it clearer. About the kick.. you could also turn the volume up and put limiter on it and EQ it maybe.

Great track, but the first 1:47 just feel sort of empty. I feel like something else needs to be in there. Another synth or part of the song that adds a bit to it. The bass needs a better eq/master for sure. Other than that it's solid. Also what he said about lowering the decay on the sub. That'd help.

I really like the track, but it definitly feels kinda empty. Maybe shortening the track would be good idea. Trap-ish hihats would be a great addition.
Keep it up!

excited nonetheless

this is awesome, its just super quiet! I think the mix sounds really great though, so just getting to a level where things sound nice and loud without clipping is all you should need to do. This is really neat tho :)
but im excited nonetheless

Honestly when it comes to kicks, I never use any compression or layers. I find one sample I love and work with it. Sample selection is always the most important thing when it comes to kicks. Find one that fits. Export your baseline to audio and compare the waveforms. Make sure the tail of the kick is in phase with your baseline. I used to go overboard with layering kicks and adding compression and in the end, picking the right sample will go much further than any of that.
