This Fortress of Mine | Feedback about what's wrong
« on: February 23, 2016, 08:43:57 pm »
Hi people!

New guy reporting! So I made and released this midtempo bass tune and I'm posting it here in hopes of getting some feedback from a fellow producers. There really aren't any other producers or musicians around me irl to look for advice, so after some time of lurking in this forum I finally decided to post something myself.

Any sort of criticism or feedback about any aspect of the tune would be highly appreciated! To those willing to share their wisdom, I'll be forever in gratitude  :)

Here's the tune:

hey man i really like this ! i think the kicks n bass can be just little deeper. and im listening to it at a pretty low volume, n the highs might be slightly too high. other than that its a deadly song homie def something different on here

Really feeling this one! Clean kick and good low end. I think that those growly mid grinds are a bit too crispy, maybe cut some highs. I would even consider adding 1 bar of silence or something right before the drop at :36 just because the transition from build to drop seems a bit abrupt to me.

Love the space you have going on at :55. Floating melodies mixed with filthy baselines are one of my obsessions :)

Keep it up!

Thanks to both of you for kind words overall and for the critiques :) I agree on the mentions about the highs, especially on the mid-range riff synths, gotta be more vigilant about those in the future
