i started this track recently and i was just looking for some mixdown advice? i'm not too happy with the kick and i think the main synths need more high end but i'm struggling a bit with it so let me know what you think it needs. thanks!

Piano at the end sounded like Language  ;) It could use some reverb to make it sound massive

You have all the synths in place, I just think they don't sound full.  I'd try to A/B your mixes with other similar artists or inspirations like Puppet who have a close style to what you're going after.  When you a/b you should be able to hear what you're hitting and what you're lacking in

I'd say all it needs is a harder sidechain. And like Shew said, the piano needs lots of reverb. I have a Fruity Reverb 2 preset that would work perfectly for this if you want it.

On top of what Shew and JoshHart said, harder sidechain and an airy piano would make it loads better. Also for me, the low end seems a bit cluttered.. It may just be me, but try clearing up the low end with a bit of EQ and it should end up really good!

I'm guessing you want it to be like "old school" mat zo/arty ish (mozart, rebound and so forth), and well... Just listen to their songs and make tweak the levels so it sounds like theirs.

And i also agree with the previous posts, it needs more sidechain.
Personally I'd make it less "constant" and introduce more complexity, but i guess that would change the genera
I would write something here, but I'm too lazy to do so

Plucks needs more sidechain and EQing. I would try putting a high pass on the plucks and taking out the low notes. Then replace that with a sub bass (using the notes you took).

This last tip is subjetive, but I think a tapestop every eight beats would make it sound more dynamic and it can add some variations too.

Good luck!  ;)

the mid bass sounds a little too uh. electro-ey? for the track. it has a lot of high-mid that's masking the chords really badly. i would suggest replacing it with a simple saw w/ a bit of eq > distortion. otherwise just do some cutting. track in general seems to have not enough low end and too much midrange. if you have a sub bass (i can't really tell) turn it up, and turn the low end on the kick up a lot. your chords are also tuned really low.. i would either add some higher voices to them or just pitch them up an octave. high pass generously! definitely needs a harder sidechain too! catchy tune i hope you finish it  :)

As a few others have said, it sounds like you need some more sidechain. I think it would sound pretty cool with a pretty heavy SC.
Also, the melody is sweet and most def catchy. It sounds like you have layered a clap over the kick, maybe do some variations with that clap.
