Funky disco/techno fusion, feedback needed
« on: February 22, 2016, 10:32:26 pm »
https://soundcloud.com/casual-backspin/clear-cut-message-original-mix-1 <- song updated!

Just finished this. I tried to keep it pretty minimal and authentic and get some of that deep techno feeling to it.
As always, I would appreciate your feedback! :)

Nice minimal deep techno vibes! pretty legit man.  I want it to sound a little darker because its not quite as mysterious and dark as I want this to be. But this is purely my personal taste. Im just typing in a stream of consciousness manner.  All the sounds have their own space and thats what makes this track really solid.  Nice kick and bass relationship, that is suuuuper crucial and you nailed it!

As far as something constructive I can add; I think the bass is what makes this track slightly too happy for my taste, the pitch of it and the fact that the melody rises up at the end of it.

the sound that comes in at 2:40 and is used continuously throughout the track is nice, its like a low-pass filtered distorted mid percussion thing and you use it effectively. but, I think you need to bring that out more because thats one of your "hottest" sounds in the track, try giving it a little more reverb and pan it moderately to the left and/or right with some variation. Maybe layer it with something subtle to bring it out more.

im not even that much into this genre and I like it so congrats!

cool track , sound selection is spot on, almost feel like it could do with a breakdown that takes it a bit darker for a section. really good mix though and the general sound is spot on!

Thank you for the feedback and positive comments :) I'm currently making some tweaks to the bassline and the main perc-synth and uploading a new version when ready! I'm keeping the changes subtle though.

Sexy analogue feels!!Lovely bass! What synth is this?sounds pretty analogue anyway.

Im not sure about the reverb on the hi hats ,seems to be a bit to wet but that might just be me im no techno expert.

Awesome track I love the dark, but funky vibe to it.  Keep up the good work.

Thanks guys! :) All of the synths are made with Sylenth1 (yeah, I'm that generic)
