Lana Del Rey Remix WIP
« on: January 06, 2016, 02:13:31 am »
Hey guys! I just started this remix of Summertime Sadness on a flight last night and i'm not sure if it's worth continuing... Any ideas/suggestions are super appreciated. Thanks so much!

Hey man great idea really ! Try achieve some dynamic cause here it's kind of a Brick wall thing , as well try to mix more gently every element as they're some dope element I can barely ear ! Keep working on it !

thanks man! yeah, everything is actually redlining and there's just a limiter on the master because i never had time to do any mixing besides some basic eq and processing.

It sounds really good! My only complain is that the vocals get kinda lost under the chords at the drop and the FX hit at 0:30. Try lowering the volume of the fx hit a lil bit and maybe EQ the chords to give the vocals more space to breathe.

Sounds good!! But yea like most said at some point the vocal disappears. Also before the drop happens you can either have a quarter note of just
"silence" or a short fade in fx. Anything to make the transition sound more smoother. As for the brick wall thing, I personally don't think its a terrible thing. It doesn't sound too squashed. In the end just double check every sound and make sure that whatever you think should be heard, will be heard.

good luck!!

I enjoy these synths a lot.  i like the intro a lot but the drop feels kinda plain and it didn't really catch my attention. maybe add more layers or just some other things going on.  its a good start though!
