Alright so this is something I've been working on for a bit. Mainly I don't quite know what to do for the second drop and the mix is kinda ehhhhhh..... but I wanna know what y'all think of this.

Mate this is quality. Not sure what you think is wrong with the mix but it sounds pretty good to me. I would make the release on that snare sidechain a bit quicker, but nothing else immediately jumps out as needing to be fixed.

Second drop-wise, I would keep it interesting by changing your chord progression at the breakdown, which you could do one of two ways:

1. Stick to just one chord, then bring your beats and bass back in. Then use simplified versions of your existing note patterns, but build up tension using modulation, effects etc., maybe bringing in a new element to use that free space you have in the high end (there are no prominent pad sounds in your tune yet, so that could be an option). Build all that towards a second breakdown, after which a third drop brings everything together.

2. Make your breakdown into a bridge using a different or modified chord sequence. Introduce something new that will complement what you already have going in the second drop, so that it flows nicely back into that while being more interesting.

Hope that makes sense. Cool tune!

On everyting "plucky" i'd play with filter envelope and velocity->cuttoff setting to make it a bit more "alive".
Also build-ups could be longer. But thumbs up. :)

...but don't overdo it, because that's called being a d***k.

Alright, so normally I wouldn't go around bumping wip threads based on minor changes but since I pretty redid the entire second drop, I thought I'd bump the post again to see what y'all think?

This song is very enjoyable my man, I wish the second link was viewable though

As Bertie mentioned, the release on the sidechain could be quicker, my problem with that is that when your kicks are doing a 1/8 or 1/16 rush, the volume sidechaining on your elements just end up sounding incredibly strong which isn't the best thing ever IMO.

Another suggestion, I do believe some of your elements should be panned around a bit more, a good example are the vocal chops at 1:02, those would do real nice when being panned with an LFO for variation

overall, great job man! I love this!
