Madeon - Innocence ft. Aquilo (Daydreamer Remix)

Daydreamer, ily. there are so many things I 'd love to ask you about this... but just so I don't overwhelm you lol i'd really like to know how you went about that amazing transition at 0:45. Are there any specific techniques you use to widen the image like that, that you'd care to share? you have an amazing dynamic range going, but aside from that do you bring certain elements from mono into stereo at that mark? i've tried recreating this vaguely and it doesn't sound nearly as beautiful. thanks for reading, looking forward to any tips you have and cant wait for your new music senpai

im very glad you enjoyed the remix!!  :)

you're half correct with your guess. i pretty much just introduced wider sounds during that section. the sounds that i used also had a bit more of a high end to them compared to the ones before. bringing those high frequencies can create a wide-sounding facade. meaning that its not necessarily wider than the sounds before, but it tricks the ears in a way to think that things are now wider and bigger. also reverse fx and volume/eq automation can create that smooth explosion kind of effect.

Really looking forward to the EP Daydreamer.  I saw Madeon 3 times last year and every time he played this out :D
