I Think Of You - Trypt Heart
« on: January 29, 2016, 07:21:13 pm »
Okay so I started this yesterday and worked into the night getting the levels to hit right. I don't even know what's going on anymore haha. I hope you can give me some comments and feedback.

Mix-wise this sounds pretty decent to me. Ideas-wise, I'm gonna struggle to explain this a bit but it's a bit full on with the feels for my liking, and could use a bit more subtlety and contrast, rather than just building up to full feels (lol), drop, build-up to full again, drop again.

Different genre but this is kind of what I'm getting at: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=y19KavBM9k0 (gratuitous opportunity to drop some Matt Lange)

In that track the breakdown starts at 2:13 and is quite evocative, but when the beat comes back in again, the track is quite sparse and brooding. For that to work all the elements of your track have to stand up on their own, rather than relying on everything going on at once to give the track a feeling of fullness. The melodic elements you've built your track out of are interesting, but maybe not quite interesting enough. Try having just a few of them going at once with the beat and bassline, and see if it's still listenable. Hope that helps..

I completely agree thank you very much. Haha and Matt Lange is the man so amazing I'll try and incorporate your feedback. Thanks again
