a board where we post some more popular/well produced songs & then everyone analyses the shit out of it all & breaks down what they think or what actually does make it a great track...

I think something like this would be a cool idea.
Drum 'n' bass mixes: https://soundcloud.com/beenisss
Neither drum 'n' bass nor mixes: https://soundcloud.com/myboyfriendbob
Mixes, but not drum 'n' bass: https://mixcloud.com/Beenis

This could be really cool if it's done right. I think the moderators would have to pay attention to weed out the inevitable "THIS TRACK SUCKS" comments.

Awesome idea. To test it out, post a track to the "You Might Like" section with "Let's analyze the shit out of this" in the OP.

Thinking about it more, I realize it would be important to lay out a structure for each discussion. This structure could probably mimic some of the threads in the Production Talk section: the mix, the gear used, the theory/song structure, the sound design...maybe even the idea behind the song, though that's the one that will probably veer your discussion off topic the fastest. There might be just one or two things you want to analyze about some songs, whereas with others you might want to take apart every last aspect of it.

(BTW, I used the word "song" here where previously I followed the OP's lead and said "track" to mean the same thing. Somebody should start a taxonomy thread!)
