I've been sat on this track for about a year and I really like the way it sounds - but I feel like something is missing/can be changed...?

This just tripped me out man haha. It's got great flow I don't have to strain my ears to hear it. I think maybe the missing part you feel could be in the low mid range area. Maybe try and have something more side focused around the low mids. Like a deep house arp sound. Also play with automated panning through the mix to freshen it up.

Definitely can use some melodic groove to keep things interesting! Very percussive!
