Flute trap
« on: January 26, 2016, 10:17:03 am »
Hey guys, I started this trap song just yesterday and I am not really sure about the "flute" lead which sounds kind of screechy to me, thought of sharing this to you with hopes to hear some great responses. So, what do you think?

Hey Hirtone,

This is a cool idea, I like it!  As said above, the drop is very nice, I really enjoy it.    The part that came after as well sounded great and kept the vibe going for me.  At around 1:46, flute part came in again and I started to lose the vibe a little bit.

I really think you nailed the drop, the sound and the way everything blends together sounds really nice, and I love the unique vibe that you created.

I wasn't a huge fan of the higher pitched synth which I think is what you were concerned about as well, as it stuck out in the mix to me above all of the other elements.  In addition, you may want to double check all of your chords and notes to make sure everything is staying in scale, as that may be playing a part as well.

Rather than trying to tweak this and spending a lot of time on making it work, you may be better off trying a new idea or a few new ideas and seeing which ones complement the rest of the song.  That drop is seriously awesome and I think the song would really benefit if you structured the entire song and vibe around it.

Anyway, this is all my opinion and at the end of the day you should absolutely use your own creative discretion to make final decisions, but I hope this will help :)

Keep it up! Looking forward to hearing more of your tunes

Would love to hear some of your feedback if you want to give my track a listen :)

Thanks for the amazing replies! Listening to it again and again I feel I made a marshmello-like song but the flute is really way too pitched to make it listenable. Will keep an eye on this song snd go back to it when I get new ideas.

The drop sounded full and good. Good job! The sections of the song leading up to it however felt a bit flat. They seemed to be missing elements and I felt that they could've used more sounds and elements to give it a fuller atmosphere. Keep working at it!
still calibrating & still figuring things out ٩(ˊᗜˋ*)و

Thanks for your opinions and advices guys, really appreciate them! Unfortunately the cable from my headphones broke and it will take about a month before the replacement one arrives, and I am not much fancy into mixing the song with my ear buds. As soon as I will be able to continue I will update this topic with newer versions.
