Frozen Dream
« on: January 24, 2016, 09:41:53 pm »
Hello everyone :)
I started production about a year ago, and I spent last weeks on a new track that I called "Frozen Dream".
The transitions are the big WIP here since I only used a cutoff. But I'm still not sure about my mixing. Is it okay ?
Thank you for listening :)

mixing sounds pretty solid to me, and the transitions don't sound too bad actually. the snap that you're using at 3:00 sounds kinda thin and could use some mid frequencies.

Well thanks  :)  I'll try to change the snap a little bit.

Holy shit that intro and atmosphere are amazing.

This is pretty good considering you've only produced for a year.

The lead that hits at 1.47 is too aggressive imo, and the mixdown becomes somehow muddy here. You should maybe lowpass the the lead and add some reverb to it if you have room in the mix. I would personally change the lead sound too, it sounds a bit... toyish now.

I think the transitions are pretty good, but the drum fills and the part at 1.47 feel unfinished.

Yeah so I would fix/change the lead. I would also try to make the mix a bit more spacious, the chorus parts feel somehow exhausting at the moment. It could be that your master is pushing too hard but I feel you could carve some room in the spectrum too.

If you need more advice on something specific just ask, I like your style.
